London-based music artist Blue Daisy was invited along to Novation’s gallery space recently to showcase his super producer skills and school a few people on how easy it is – or at least, how easy he makes it look – to make a killer beat in under a short space of time.
In what serves as a special series of live Beat This sessions in collaboration with Novation, artists were invited along and assigned the task of constructing a beat in under a strict, ten minute timeframe. Hailing from Camden, Blue Daisy (a.k.a Kwesi Darko) is a London-living vocalist and producer whose releases over the years have seen him gain comparisons with the likes of Tyler, Burial, Massive Attack and Portishead, in addition to enjoying features with the likes of NME, Clash, FACT and Noisey. Some of his musical achievements include a recent collaboration with Tricky and opening for Public Enemy at Electric Brixton in the summer. Following his numerous musical offerings including his 2014 EP Psychotic Love and the more recently released Mermaids, Blue Daisy will also be dropping a new album for 2015 via R&S Records.
