Kaniva made an emotional return to ILUVLIVE when he performed tracks from his recent EPs Homeless and Home. Unknown to the audience at the time, the last time the rapper performed at the event, he brought all of his clothes and bags with him. He would regularly struggle to find somewhere to sleep at night. This time round he returned to headline the show and now has a place of his own. We caught up with Kaniva after the show; “being able to come back and perform a song, which was composed whilst I was homeless, was amazing. Recreating it with such a great live band was amazing. It felt like a genuine stepping stone in my life and my career”.
Some of the gems of the evening came from Urban Artist School artists. Alumni Estee Blu and Malunga and current Urban Artist School students, Camper Caine and Infecta, created a great atmosphere.
The night overall was full of stand-out moments, emotional stories and energetic performances. Backed by an incredible ILUVLIVE house band, the Urban Artist School alumni and current students, told their own stories and journeys through their music.
